Gifford Lane Art Stroll is this Sunday
It's the Grove's favorite block party; a taste of the old Grove under the shady trees that line the street. Art is on either side, hung on fences, trees and whatever. In between homemade burgers and hot dogs are served, also ribs, ice pops and of course Cucumber Punch. The live bands break up the rows of musicians and add non-stop music to the day.
The Stroll is from noon to 5 pm; it's all on one block of Gifford from Day Avenue to Oak Avenue.
The art goes from one end of the street to the next, hanging on fences, trees, sprawled out on the street, just about anywhere. Award-winning Grove artist Bobbi Header created this year's poster art which will be displayed at the Stroll.
The art comes in all categories: paintings, sculptures, seascapes, landscapes, etc. 63 artists are participating this year. Come out and enjoy; buy some art; it's always reasonable and a percentage of the proceeds go to charity.
The Grove's own Solar Dogs will be performing as one of the bands. Speaking of dogs, it sometimes feels as if there are more pets than people, so feel free to ride your bike over and bring your dogs.
The St. Stephen’s AIDS Ministry and the St. Alban’s Child Enrichment Center in the Grove Village West are the beneficiaries.
