FAM night is back for First Saturday of the Month
According to Coconut Grove BID’s Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator, Jackie Segedin, “Expect to be pleasantly surprised by the sound of live music spilling onto the sidewalks and into conversations as you stroll through the district, hop from shop to shop and dine alfresco. There is truly something for everyone to see!” The BID is the main sponsor of FAM.
FAM participants include: Academy of Arts & Minds on Commodore Plaza, who will cover all facets of fashion, art and music by showcasing their latest fashion photo shoot, a live performance by the Jazz Band & Voices, and a gallery of their latest artwork. Design Bar, a home décor boutique, will feature The Oliver Gal Artist Co. – spearheaded by a sister duo – inspired by the Miami art scene and by photography from their travels around the word. Their art collections are handcrafted with airy images, pop culture themes and sticking layers of color. In addition, back after a two-month hiatus to help prepare for the 2014 Coconut Grove Arts Festival, the CGAF gallery will re-open for a unique and historic photography exhibition by Cathryn Griffith, Havana Revisited: An Architectural Heritage. Returning from last month’s F.A.M. Night is musician, Pino Grillo – a Miami native and FIU Alumni, who corralled a large gathering of fans!
Other participants: Blue Moon Studio, CocoWalk, The Bookstore in the Grove, Coconut Grove Arts Festival, Nikki's Beachhouse, Ramona LaRue by Arianne, and more, as you'll discover as you stroll around the Grove.
And of course, we can't forget the Coconut Grove Drum Circle, which meets at the corner of Commodore Plaza and Grand Avenue from 8 to 10 pm. At times a couple of hundred people show up to drum, dance and hula hoop. It's free to join in.
Every first Saturday of the month, this signature event offers locals and visitors new discoveries of original and unique art in various forms. This is a must see event for all fashionistas, art enthusiasts and music lovers.
FAM night is free and open to the public.

They really need to publish a map of all the participating galleries, etc. I've lived in the Grove for almost two years, and after a couple of tries, stopped going to Art Walk/FAM because I can't find any of the galleries. They just aren't well marked and if you don't know they are there you'd never find them.
Totally agree with the above post, and I've lived here for 8 years..
