At the movies
Apparently Katie Holmes and daughter Suri were in Coconut Grove over the weekend. They went to the movies at CocoWalk.
Reminds me of the 1990s heydays in Coconut Grove when the movie there, then the AMC, was full of celebs on almost a nightly basis -- Madonna, Cher, Jon Secada, Sylvester Stallone, Gloria Estefan, etc.
I think I told the story before, my friend who worked there was sweeping up after one of the movies ended and a lady was sitting there alone, she stayed after everyone else had left. She turned to ask him if she could stay to see the beginning of the movie when it started again because she got there late and missed it on the first run. It was Cher.
Another time, Madonna and Ingrid Casares arrived late and their reserved seats were given away, Ingrid threw a fit, Madonna was humbled and just accepted the fact and they left since the movie was sold out.
