Breaking the news to them; toxic parks
She actually said she moved here because she loves Blanche Park. I don't know why they have not heard the news, but I gently broke the news to them about the contamination. The park is not closed due to the astroturf, which authorities feel is separating the toxins from the public; the astroturf is a buffer.
And now two more parks have been closed because of contamination. What did they do in the 1940s, grab any piece of vacant land and throw toxins into it? This all makes no sense. Billy Rolle Park, that little domino park on Grand Avenue has been closed and Southside Park near Brickell has been closed, too.
So along with Blanche Park, Merrie Christmas Park and Douglas Park, this makes five parks so far.
Many believe that the waterfront may be contaminated from excess fuel and such from when the area was an airport. When then new Grove Bay project starts, soil samples should be taken and tested for this. While it could be contaminated under Scotty's Landing and The Chart House, the soil has not been disturbed for years but once they start digging, they may be in for a surprise.

Same thing under the upcoming Convention Center Park. For sure that will have asbestos and other toxins. City of Miami government is toxic!
