Christmas tree lighting party at CocoWalk

Just passed CocoWalk, where they are getting ready to install the big Christmas tree. Only this year, rather than have the tree up on top of the large staircase, they are putting it down below, out front on Grand Avenue. It will sit on top of the fountain area right out front, so anyone driving through the Grove will get to enjoy the twinkling lights on the tree all season.

There's a tree lighting ceremony on Saturday, November 30 from 2 to 8 pm. Stop by for the holiday-themed event which will include fun holiday activities and a bounce house, exotic petting zoo, free popcorn and snow cones, arts and crafts, pictures with Santa Claus and a live performance of the Nutcracker by the Coconut Grove Ballet Studio.

For the grand finale, the tree will be lit, featuring a special guest. Local school groups will sing Christmas carols.
