"Living in the Moment" - new meditation series
This new series will be held Monday evenings from 7:45 to 9:15 pm through October 21.
"We live our lives in the grip of distraction, toward memories of the past, anticipation of the future, and many things that do not even exist in the present. Every moment of our life can have immense value, if we live it meaningfully with mindfulness and purpose. By practicing this, we can free ourself from anxiety, resentment and worry, and we will experience true clarity, focus and joy," says Todd Ellenberg of Dharma.
The series are as follows:
October 7 ~ The Preciousness of Every Moment: Our Human Life
October 14 ~ How are we Living?: Remembering Our Death
October 21 ~ Making Every Moment Meaningful: Practicing Mindfulness
The classes are taught by modern Buddhist monk Gen Kelsang Norbu. Each class includes two guided meditations and teachings on the series subject. Each class is self-contained, and everyone is welcome.
The class is a branch of Drolma Kadampa Buddhist Center in Fort Lauderdale, which offers Buddhist meditation classes throughout Southeast Florida.
There is a $10 fee per class. E-mail info@meditationinfortlauderdale.org, call 954-789-9408, or visit www.meditationinmiami.com for more information.
