Kick-off Mixer for Coconut Grove Elementary School
What is the Campaign for Excellence? It's the PTA’s annual fundraising effort to help fund educational programs and campus improvements thanks to the generosity of families and community friends.
The education budget cuts by the state of Florida and Miami-Dade County district are real. Money is being taken away from community schools. The money raised by the Campaign for Excellence will help fill the gap for the children's education and school experience. The PTA pays for academic programs used in the school classrooms and the PTA funded Smart Board purchases items for the classrooms. The PTA is committed to installing more security features for the school, and making upgrades to the school’s decaying bathrooms, and improving our library.
Please be a part of the kick-off mixer on Wednesday, October 23, from 6 to 8 pm at The Bookstore in the Grove (3390 Mary Street, corner of Mary Street and Florida Avenue). The Bookstore will be offering a story time hour, so children are welcome. PTA and school family members in attendance will receive complimentary hors d'oeurves and a complimentary drink. Non-PTA and non-family members will be able to purchase food and drink at Bookstore. Please RSVP by Sunday, October 20, by sending a confirmation to coconutgrove.pta@gmail.com.
What else can you do? If you can, please pledge your support to the CGE PTA at coconutgrovepta.jbfsecure.com/ or by sending a check to Coconut Grove Elementary School PTA, Attn: Fundraising, 3351 Matilda Street, Miami, FL 33133. You also can ask your employer to make a monetary (or matching contribution), or you can put them in touch with the contact person for community giving. All donations are tax-deductible.
