Coconut Grove Gallery Walk is Saturday

The Coconut Grove Gallery Walk is Saturday, October 5, the Grove's galleries will be offering up lots of new art along with music and refreshments. It starts at 7 pm and runs through 10 pm.

On the corner of Commodore Plaza and Grand Avenue, you can find the Drum Circle, just listen for the beat, you'll find them. Join in, dance, hula hoop, whatever, it's a great free for all, summer of love type stuff.

Some of the art that is being presented includes "Le Cabaret de la Vie" at Blu Moon Studio, where artists Oswald Franco and Sheri Friedman unveil their collaborative painting. The unveiling is at 8:30 pm and it's rated PG!

The Coconut Grove Arts Festival Gallery is actually have a closing party for the current exhibit, Six Views in Fiber. If you haven't seen this yet, you should. The gallery is at the Mayfair Atrium, by the Bull sculpture.

The quilts in this exhibition, which really aren't quilts, are contemporary in nature and do not necessarily follow the rules of traditional quilts. The artists who created these incredibly beautiful and unique quilts push the boundaries with their quilt art. They explore design, concepts and ideas in a distinctly different way of working from the traditional approach to the craft. Their creativity, sense of design and color, plus their close attention to detail and excellent craftsmanship honors the creative efforts evident in the entire spectrum of quilt making.

And there are other locations, too, including the Boswell Mourot Gallery on Commodore Plaza which is a great space with lots of eclectic art.

FrameWorks on the corner of Grand and Commodore is presenting the works of Jeannette Romeu and Silvia Bastos, two abstract-style artists with their own special techniques.

Stroll the Grove and enjoy a nice fall night with music and art.
