About the Margaret Street shooting
On Saturday, October 26 at 3:30 am, I responded to the 3200 block of Margaret Street in reference to a male shot.
The residents arrived home and unloaded their vehicle when two armed black males entered via the open door and demanded money. A struggle ensued and the male resident was shot once in the stomach.
The offenders fled on foot. Units arrived and canvassed the area for the offenders, but were unable to locate. The victim was transported to JMH Ryder where he remains in critical, but stable condition.
Suspect #1 medium complexion black male 6'0, thin build, wearing a gray hoodie over face and dark pants.
Suspect #2 light complexion black male 5'10, medium built, short hair and soft facial features. Wearing dark clothing and a white shirt over his face.
Robbery detectives are following all leads, but we need your assistance. Please contact your neighbors that have security video cameras in the area to check between the hours of 0100-0330.
Initial investigation indicated that it appears the offenders were in the area and noticed the victims arriving home and took advantage of the situation.
We have shifted our focus to the area of SW 32 ave to Plaza from Franklin to Shipping Ave. where units will be flooding the area between the hours of 11P and 4A looking for the above listed duo.
Please if you see any offenders matching the above description call 911 immediately.
Thanks
Cmdr. Manuel Morales

Thank you, Commander Morales, for reaching out to the public about this incident, letting us know what happened, and asking for our help. This is the kind of police / community interaction we have wanted and would like to continue to see. Hopefully there will be a neighbor who will have seen something that can help you.
While I applaud Commander Morales for reaching out to the public, I don't think this is the kind of interaction we have wanted, and I hope similar things don't continue to happen and we don't have to have such interactions in the future.
I wish the police all the best in apprehending these suspects. I am confident they will do a good job.
I certainly am glad to hear the facts of what is going on, because the round about way one hears these things and what is said is not good. So yes please keep us up to date on all happenings in all parts if the grove. thank you ..gail beckham
Hey 905 pm of course we want communication from the police and if course we don't want this to happen but if it does we want to hear he facts !
4:09, this is 9:05.
I think the first commentator was missing the point: while it is laudable that the police speak with the community, it is unfortunate that the state of policing or the nature of the community or those visiting makes the Grove a fearsome place.
I am glad the police give us information and ask for our help. A few days earlier, the local media did as well.
I live on Frankin Avenue just east of Hibiscus and some pretty awful things have happened in the last two weekends. Just last night two cars had their windows smashed, I spoke to both car owners, luckily nothing was stolen in either case. The worst was the previous weekend when my neighbor living above me was robbed at gunpoint, fortunately it did not end for him like the Margaret Street incident. It's a shame that what we need is more police presence but unfortunately things are not looking good for this area of the grove. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I would like to know why none of the local online News sites have given a description of the Robbers?
It is not our job to keep ourselves and family safe .That is the states job . Can't we go back to when the grove was a safe place to live ? When was that by the way ?
Since the police are not doing much, have horrible 911 response (if they even take your report and don't transfer you), police time to get to a call if 911 doesn't put you on hold or transfer you is horrible, the only solution is to Learn to shoot and carry your own gun! That's what I did so look out. Standing my Ground in North Grove! Don't mess with me or my family.
"It is not our job to keep ourselves and family safe"
Wow. Personal security is indeed your own responsibility. Law enforcement can't be everywhere to deter crime. Also, I'm not sure if you've heard, but the Supreme Court has ruled (multiple times, I might add) that law enforcement at any level has no duty to protect citizens.
I'm surprised there's no comment in here from the high rise living, blinders wearing individual who at the last mention of crime in the Grove was very insistent that there is no crime problem, all the while dismissing examples of recent crimes.
I accept that we are on our own for about 5 - 10 min, if not longer. That is why it is my responsibility to protect not only myself, but more importantly, my family!!
Sergio, my husband's car was one of the cars broken into on Franklin. The car break ins have happened to several people in the Franklin Apts, there were two weekends in a row where EVERY Single Vehicle parked on Franklin was broken into, it was so bad the Police put one of those digital sign machines warning people not to park there. Its obviously the same person from months ago who is still prowling that area, I am SHOCKED Police have not had a vehicle parked on Franklin since this is constant. Also do you have more details on the Home Robbery?! I had not heard about this at all!!!!
According to Channel-10 news, one of the Robbers has been caught and charged. A seventeen year-old.
I commend Grapevine for posting request.
