New Farmer's Market planned for Nov. start

It's still in the works, but hopefully Coconut Grove will get a new weekly Farmer's Market at the Playhouse parking lot. The plan is for Thursdays from 2 to 8 pm each week, November is the start date, but we'll keep you posted.

The nice part about this is that Seasons Farm Fresh will be running the market and there will be lots of vendors with really fresh food. Over 40 vendors will participate, specializing in local produce and other items.

Seasons Farm Fresh is doing this in conjunction with the BID to make this happen and Paradise Parking, who runs the lot, is donating parking, so 80 to 100 cars would have room for free parking each week.

A fresh farmer's market, with free parking! Once the market starts, they anticipate it going yearly.

This is great...but I don't want to overlook the amazing farmers market that has graced us every Saturday for ages on Grand Ave. Does anyone know what's going to happen to it? Is this farmers market replacing it, or will they run simultaneously?

one is on Saturday; one is on Thursday.

Hopefully the Thursday one will be more affordable.

Yes, both are separate enterprises, they will both be open, one Thurs. and one Sat.

This farmers' market is dedicated to both local, sustainable and organic produce. Unlike the Saturday market, which focuses on certified organic and prepared raw vegan foods, we will offer farm fresh produce from small farmers here in South Florida. Our goal is to make eating healthy affordable for everyone, not just the top 1%. We are working with the Grove BID to help foster relationships with vendors in the area as well.

love the vibe on Sat, but too expensive.
Maybe the Thursday FM will be more in line with others around town.
Competition is good

As a resident of Charles Ave I am looking forward to this market
opening at the end of our street but I am greatly concerned with
the increase in traffic that it is going to create. With Charles
Ave being one of the few streets that allow traffic to get from
37ave to Main Hwy, traffic is already at an unsafe high and
with no means to tame the traffic,
ie: speed bump or circle, I fear what this traffic increase will
cause to our residential street. Thank you.
