Vinos has its own special feel

 I had mentioned Vinos Wine Bar & Shop. They have added a gallery to their second floor, it's about eight months old.

I had not been, but I stopped in just as they were closing up the gallery for the night this past Saturday, during Gallery Walk. I love the gallery!

I had just missed their Gallery Walk event, they had refreshments and lots of people mixing and mingling on the second level, overlooking Main Highway below. The featured artists are Oscar and Isa, it's called "Matachos Art." It really fits in well with the dark red walls. This exhibit is at Vinos until Thursday, August 15. The next installation will be "Photography with Phelan."

I regret not having photos here of the downstairs bar at Vinos, but it's an amazing space. It's like stepping into another place, someplace outside Coconut Grove.

It originally was supposed to be very Key Westy, but I see it as being more of like a European Pub; an upscale pub with down home people. You feel so welcome and comfortable. It's got wine all over the place and so many other things going on, it's busy, but in a nice way.

There is always some sort of musical performance going on, too, Vinos is very involved with the community. Singer/Songwriter Omine Eager performs live each Sunday starting at 5 pm. Omine will also be performing at the "Photography with Phelan" opening on August 22.
And upcoming on Friday, August 9, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, enjoy the Brancott Chill Hour Event, a free wine tasting. And there is another free wine tasting on Thursday, August 29 from 6 to 8 pm presented by Pali Wines.

Something very Grovey and Key Westy is their Burlesque Show coming up on Saturday, August 31 starting at 9 pm. It's Celebrity Lookalike Night, featuring Sofia Luna. Now that sounds like a lot of fun. Vinos is at 3409 Main Highway | 305-442-8840.
