Owning the streets
The part that concerns the Grove is the part where Brickell is being called the Park Avenue of Miami and the City wants control over it. Ironically, Main Highway is sitting, rotting, because the County wants the City to take it over and the City does not want it.
That's why you see broken sidewalks and tar covered tree roots.
Brickell and Main Highway are sort of the same street because way back when, it was all one little swirvy Indian trail. If Brickell is the Park Avenue of Miami, what is historic Main Highway?

Only if we had a commissioner who had as much balls to defend us and work for us.
That's funny, I thought Coconut Grove already had a Park Avenue.
They just redid Commodore Trail. Walking down Main Highway is the best its been in years. Where are the broken sidewalks you're talking about? From Ransom to Douglas Road its all brand new. I walk that route twice a day. Maybe you should venture south of Ransom to see how good it is now.
When are you folks going to realize that Commissioner "Ethics: is over you. You don't matter in his future plans. Sucking up to the folks on Brickell does.
The upscale young forward thinking folks on Brickell should find out how forward thinking Sarnoff has been to the homeless: wanting to make it illegal to feed the homeless for years and lying about neighboring city police departments to illegally arrest and throw every single homeless out of downtown for ever.
