The Scotty's Landing saga continues
Looks like Scotty's Landing is off the hook for their $1.35 million tax bill -- for now.
A judge ruled today that the City was liable for the bill, but the City is going to appeal.
“I don’t believe the statutory scheme the legislature has enacted provides for a mechanism that allows the county to treat the city as a taxpayer,” said Julie Bru, City Attorney.

Can you explain to me why a tenant has to pay the taxes? I thought taxes were paid by owners.
