Save the Coconut Grove Playhouse
From the group trying to save the Coconut Grove Playhouse's Facebook page:
"The Playhouse needs you to make a call to Anne Peery of Florida Trust for Historic Preservation at (850) 224-8128 and tell her that the Playhouse long ago deserved to be placed on her organization's endangered historic sites list. They have not made their final decision but it looks certain she does not feel the Grove Playhouse deserves to be on that list. We have submitted the application with several letters of affirmation seemingly to no avail. Please, we need your help....or rather the Playhouse needs it. It is difficult to understand why gas stations are on the state's historic sites list but not the Coconut Grove Playhouse. Please give her the facts of the history of the place and explain that, yes, there have been some small changes to the Playhouse but nothing significant since the 1950s that diminish its historic importance. Does anyone have one minute to make such a phone call? If there's no answer please just leave her a voice mail message."
