Big Howl in the Wood is Saturday at Shell Lumber

Big Howl in the Wood,  is this Saturday, March 30 at Shell Lumber (2733 SW 27 Avenue).

This is one of Coconut Grove's favorite events, back for it's 4th year. The Grove's own Solar Dogs will be performing as usual and this year, they have an opening act -- "Avocado Estate," from the UM School of Music, they are an old time string band.

For those of you not familiar with the event, it's a concert right in the lumber yard! Local artists show and sell their art, they hang the art right on the wood in the yard. There is lots of music and there's food and cash bars, too. Lots of dancing as the night goes on.

Food this year is being provided by Sakaya Kitchen and possibly another vendor or two, they promise no long lines like previous years. Cortland Joyce and his Pop Nature ice pops will be there, you know, the guy with all the exotic mixed flavored ice pops.

The charity involved this year is Shake-A-Leg, they will have a table set up at the event to bring awareness to their organization.
Tickets are $10 at the door, or you can pre-purchase them at Shell Lumber this week.
