"Back to Bach" to present Baroque world of music

Udi Bar-David of the Philadelphia Orchestra performs Sunday.
The Miami Conservatory of Music (MCM) is presenting a 2-day Bach Festival on Saturday and Sunday, March 9 and 10. Discover one of the greatest composers of all time. Through performances by professional musicians and a few students, you will be transported into the life and the Baroque world of music of Johann Sebastian Bach, the German organist, harpsichordist, violist and violinist who wrote more than 200 cantatas and produced more than 1,000 compositions.

String and orchestra students from MCM will open the program followed by professional pianists, guitarists and string musicians. Performances on these two afternoons will start at 4 pm and will extend into the evening. 

On Saturday, March 9, internationally renowned duo and solo pianists and composers Kirk Whipple and Marilyn Morales will amaze you with their approach of Bach. They will be followed by the guitarist Jose Alfredo Fernandez. Young students are also invited to discover one of the greatest composers of all time in a welcoming environment.

On Sunday, March 10, a wonderful musician, Udi Bar-David of the Philadelphia Orchestra, will play and present a "Deconstructed" and "Classical" Bach. Udi is widely considered as one of the most versatile cellists in the world today. Guest artists to include Yueh-yin Liao and Andres Trujillo.

Tickets: Per Day- $15 adults, $10 Students online; Two Day Package- $25 Adults, $15 Students online here. $5 extra if purchased at the door on the day of the event.

The Miami Conservatory of Music Hall is located at 2911 Grand Avenue, next to the Miami Improv.
