This is the painting by artist Rasa Saldaitis that is being used for the poster for this year's St. Stephen's Art Show. It was unveiled last night at a party at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church on McFarlane Road.
Rasa proudly showed off her work in the garden next to the church. The name of the painting is "Under the Palms" and Rasa explained to the crowd that she got the idea for the impressionistic work right from the Nepenthe Garden, she looked up and the palm trees were her muse.
At left, Jordyn listens in as Daisy Lewis Salazar, show director, welcomes the crowd. At right, Rasa addresses the crowd.
The Solar Dogs performed all night as people enjoyed Asian-inspired food and lots of drinks. Copa di Vino, the wine served by the glass, was the special drink of the night.
The St. Stephen's Art Show is February 16, 17 and 18 and runs alongside the Coconut Grove Arts Festival that same weekend.

That is what should have been the poster for the Coconut Grove Arts Festival. Represents more of the Grove and Miami than that hideous Britto poster.
Exactly.Much nicer than the crap from Britto.
really nice poster.....
Great poster!! Maybe next year the old farts that run the Coconut Grove Arts Festival will consider a local talent as opposed to the tired hideous work of one whose day has come and gone.
