Another reason to hate being called for jury duty

That lawsuit against developer Jorge Perez and The Related Group, brought on by the Vizcayans was thrown out, even after the jurors found the developer guilty.

It's sad because according to The Herald, "The jury sided with the Vizcayans, finding that the developers committed more than two dozen wrongful acts in pursuit of the projects — from behind-the-scenes meetings with city commissioners to secret deals to pay $8 million to win the support of nearby neighborhood groups."

The article goes on to say, "But Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Daryl Trawick later threw out the jury’s verdict and found in favor of the developers. He said the Vizcayans failed to prove that the developers’ actions “targeted” the Vizcayans, and added that the developers’ conduct was allowed under their rights to petition the government and go to court."

I'm not sure why the jurors were there if the judge decided the case. Some of the jurors started crying after they found out what had happened. Made fools of, that's what happened. What was the point of the case and even having a jury?
