Scotty's Landing vs The Chart House

Grovite Liam Crotty, wrote a story for the Miami Herald last week regarding Scotty's Landing vs The Chart House. 

Liam is saying that the patio is used at Scotty's almost from the moment they open until they close, while next door, at The Chart House, their patio is dead. I don't remember ever seeing anyone out behind The Chart House, so that's an interesting comparison.

The Chart House has gone down hill over the years, but then again, so has Scotty's, so why do people prefer Scotty's to The Chart House. Maybe the price for food, it's more expensive to eat and drink at The Chart House. Scotty's is more fun, more informal.

All this brings up the RFPs that went out and are now being redone. Whatever goes on the waterfront is going to change the waterfront. Whatever is new will probably get business because Brickell and South Miami area proof of this, put something new in and people will try it out.

Maybe in the long run, the idea is to put outdoor seating, along the water's edge, and really make use of it, unlike The Chart House has done all these years.
