Sound stages in Village West?
Someone mentioned in the comments section yesterday, in the Burn Notice story, about having sound stages built in Village West to accommodate film and tv production in Miami. A few years ago, a friend brought that up, too. I don't know if I mentioned it then, but I thought it was an excellent idea.
The only drawback of course are the neighbors who don't want that type of infringement on their neighborhood. Talk has been that stores and residences will be going in, but so far nothing has been done. Sound stages on the property could be serviced by US1 and it would be an easy in and out access. Again, the problem would be these massive structures right there in someone's back yard. But then again, so would the supermarket, stores and condos that are being discussed for the area.
