Really Thick Milkshakes in the heat of summer
|Rodrigo Zambrano, Eric Wagner, Eric Garcia|
The group consists of Eric Wagner, Rodriqo Zambrano and Eric Garcia.
Eric Wagner, singer, songwriter and guitarist, you may know from Solar Dogs and WagDaddies. He's a veteran of the Akron, Kent, Pittsburgh, Providence, and the Miami music scenes, Wagner has built a reputation as a first-rate songwriter, musician, and performer in the blues, bluegrass, Americana, and alt-country genres. His lyrics reflect a wry sense of humor, a punk spirit, and a primitive post-modern ethic. He keeps traditional American styles sounding fresh and alive with harmonic leaps and dynamic arrangements. Garcia and Zambrano are Wagner’s revival roots music soul mates, with shared musical instincts that make each and every Really Thick Milkshakes performance authentically soul stirring.
Mexican guitarist and bassist, Rodrigo Zambrano performs, records, and tours around the world. Rodrigo's a veteran of the San Francisco, Mexico City, and Miami music scenes, and has worked with the likes of Mike Schermer, Steve Erhmann, R.J. Mischo, Terry Hanck, Locos Por Juana, Suenalo, and Elastic Bond. With the Really Thick Milkshakes, Digo dazzles audiences with his the Chet Atkins meets Roy Buchanan meets Dave Rawlings guitar stylings.
South Miami singer and harmonica player Eric Garcia began playing the mouth organ in 1988. A disciple of the late, great, Fleet Starbuck, he moved to southern California in ‘90 and performed as a regular member in several rock and funk-jazz bands. Moving back to Miami in '92, he joined local rock powerhouse, King Bee, and since ‘98 has led the eclectic, dirty-blues 4-piece, Juke. The Really Thick Milkshakes are his other musical passion. The collaboration with Wagner and Zambrano definitely bring out the best of Eric's American roots harmonica tricks!
The performance is from 8 to 11 pm. The Grove Spot is at 3324 Virginia Street.
