Looking for a something to do this Labor Day? On Saturday, September 1, consider a guided tour of the Kampong, the 11-acre botanical garden and historic waterfront estate on Biscayne Bay in Coconut Grove. Locals and tourists alike will enjoy the walking tour, which provides a behind-the-scenes peek into the private house and gardens that plant explorer David Fairchild built.

“Spend your Labor Day outside, taking advantage of the gorgeous South Florida weather,” said Ann Parsons, Director of The Kampong. “Guests are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy on the grounds after their tour.”

Tours run most Saturdays and Wednesdays from September to June. Reservations are required – please go to kampong.ntbg.org to reserve your spot or call 305-442-7169 for more details (limited spaces available). Gates open at 10:00AM, and the 2-hour tour begins at 10:30AM.

Tour fee is $20 for adults, $15 for ages 62 and over and students with ID, $10 for children 4-12 years, and free for children 3 and under (accompanied by adult).
