Swapping trees out on Grand Avenue

A bunch of trees on Grand Avenue, toward Village West have tree removal permits on them, but the good news is that they are not being cut down, they are actually being moved by the County to another location where they will thrive. As you know, these scrawny yellow trees keep falling down. You know, the ones in front of the post office that go all the way to US 1. There are 116 of them.
They are being replaced by sturdier trees -- Verawoods.

This is a county project and it's a result of TreeWatch getting involved with the Public Works department. Since the trees are small and easy to relocate, they are being moved to the Virginia Key entrance, where the county has a facility, where they can be taken care of properly and thrive.

The Village West Homeowners Association was asked their opinion and they are in favor of the swap out. The Verawoods also have yellow flowers, as shown above.
