"Pathway to Paradise" unveiled at party
"Pathway to Paradise," a photograph by Carlos Cuba, was presented last night as the 2012 Show Poster for the St. Stephen's Art Show, which is February 18, 19 and 20 on the church grounds at 2750 McFarlane Road. The photo was taken in Key West, where Carlos told me he got the perfect blue/green water color that he desired for the image. Above, Carlos, left, with Bill Ritzi, director of art for the festival, unveil the piece.
Carlos has been “painting with film” for over thirty years. His passion started at the age of thirteen.
The shape of the photograph will make an unusual poster in that it is long and narrow. Sidewalk Salads catered last night's party at the Nepenthe garden at St. Stephen's; the yearly favorite, chocolate covered strawberries were served along with lots of Asian inspired hors d'oeuvres.
The Coconut Grove Arts Festival is that weekend as well, starting on McFarlane and winding around onto South Bayshore Drive up toward 27th Avenue.
