Big Arts Festival weekend is here
I was out all morning, checking out the arts festivals that will be in town for the weekend. It's really a buzz of excitment. Tents and signs are going up, artists are starting to arrive, traffic is really becoming a bear. These guys were working on the large entry gate that stands on McFarlane Road.
I once asked Monty Trainer, Grove Arts Festival president, how it felt to have so much power over the traffic flow, or lack of flow, for the whole weekend, and he laughed. But it's really all worth it. One of the best events of the year, the Coconut Grove Arts Festival starts tomorrow, along with the St. Stephen's Art Show.
The weather is beautiful, it could be about 10 degrees cooler, but it's sunny and nice. Hope to see you all this weekend, the Coconut Grove Arts Festival and the St. Stephen's Arts Show are open Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10 am to 6 pm. A one day pass to the Coconut Grove Arts Festival is $10 and $5 for Grove residents. the St. Stephen's show is $2 per person, per day.
