Black Friday? How about Small Biz Saturday?
Small Business Saturday is November 26, the day after Black Friday.
On this day, everyone is asked to shop locally, you know, the mom and pop businesses in the neighborhood, which is easy to do in Coconut Grove, since that is the bulk of businesses here.
Forget Walmart and Target and Macy's on Small Business Saturday, consider buying your holiday gifts at The Bookstore in the Grove or Out of Africa or Palm Produce or any of the great art galleries we have. Spend money locally.
This is the 2nd annual year for this campaign and if everyone would just shop locally this one day, it would make a very large impact on small businesses.
American Express is offering a $25 gift credit if you sign up using your Am Ex card and use it at a local business on Saturday. The info to sign up is here.
