Volvo Ocean Race kick-off party at Shake-A-Leg
The Volvo Ocean Race is coming to Miami. The 2011/2012 season begins in October in Alicante, Spain, and travels 39,000 nautical miles through the world's most treacherous oceans. There are 10 ports in 10 different countries and Miami is the only North American stop over.
They race is in town from May 6 to 20, 2012 and the kick-off celebration is being held at Shake-A-Leg Miami (2620 S. Bayshore Drive) on Wednesday, October 12 -- it's called the "Beyond Water Kick Off," it's a fundraising event.
Cost is $100 per person. Please RSVP by October 7 to info@volvooceanracemiami.org or 305-476-2078.
