Halloween Autumn Bingo at Woman's Club
Current prizes include an authentic Romero Britto keychain, gift certificates from local businesses such as M Salon, The Loft, member donations such as Backinstyle.com and art by Club President Lisa Remeny plus lots of fun surprises. For the fifth time D & L Salon in South Miami is donating a valuable certificate. Prizes are still being collected and are welcomed from local businesses. Past prizes have been donated by businesses including Jaquar, Mr. Moes, Sandbar Grill, Seasons 52, The Bookstore in the Grove, My Yogart Bliss, The Titanic Brewery and Restaurant, and Wax On & Wax Off.
The clubhouse is located at 2985 South Bayshore Drive. Doors will open at 6:30 pm. The last game has a cash Prize of $500 if you complete the entire Bingo Card in 46 numbers. Finger food will be served and a cash bar will be available. Games will be played from 7 to 9 pm. Admission is $5.00 and cards are $1.00 each with a minimum of five games.
Proceeds from the quarterly games are dedicated to paying down the monthly mortgage incurred by a $250,000 renovation, including compliance with the ADA accessibility requirements, new landscaping and other interior improvements.
The clubhouse and grounds may be rented for weddings, receptions and other events by calling 305-449-2909.
The building was designed by noted architect, Walter DeGarmo, and built in 1921. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the City of Miami's List of Historic Sites. The Woman's Club of Coconut Grove is a private not-for-profit charitable organization founded on February 19, 1891, when Flora McFarlane, Miami-Dade County's first schoolteacher, gathered five other pioneer women to organize the "Housekeeper's Club". The name was changed in 1957.
