Kathleen Staples art is featured at Hunter Gallery
Kathleen Staples' art premiered on Saturday night at the Hunter Gallery at the Mayfair Atrium. Here is Kathleen, left, with one of her fans, Patricia Hayes, who came out in the heavy rain to enjoy the art opening.
Kathleen's large works fill up the gallery. She uses bright colors with unusual 3-D stripes that go across the paintings, almost upsetting them. My friend, Lilia Garcia, currator of the gallery tells me that this is to "shock you" and make you think. It does (in a good way).
The exhibit is on display throughout the rest of the month.
As usual, the Hunter Gallery offered refreshments to the visitors on Gallery Walk Night, the first Saturday of the month. Next Gallery Walk is October 1.
