Going back to blah
The US flags are coming down, making the village a little more blah. They went up on Flag Day, June 14 and now that the 4th of July is over, it's time for them to come down. AAA Flag & Banner Mfg. has been out all day removing them.
I like them because besides the fact that they are patriotic, they sort of add a lot of life to the street scape as they fly in the wind. They should leave them up all summer until Labor Day, another US holiday.
It's almost as depressing as when the Christmas decorations come down. That's always an exciting time of year when the decorations go up (hopefully we'll have more and more red this year). And when they come down at the end of the year, it's like all the fun is over.
Last year, I chronicled the Mayfair tree going up, that's a fun day. Only a few more months for that. Times goes quick. Only 166 more shopping days until Christmas!
