Beware of fake repairmen peddling scams
Today they came back claiming that the alarm company sent them to check on a blown transformer. Luckily the merchant felt suspicious. She asked for ID, they didn't have any, they didn't even have uniforms on or drive a company truck. So the police were called.
They seem to be running this scam in the area. Aside from charging for a fake alarm fix, they may easily be rewiring the alarm box to allow them access into the businesses later. Be warned.
If anyone from anywhere including the phone or cable company, shows up out of the blue, ask for ID and call the company they claim they were sent from. It's a clever scam, but not if you actually catch them in the act.
