Traffic light situations

You know me, I hate to complain . . . [long pause, smirks], but have you seen the light at Aviation and Tigertail? The traffic light I mean.

It's been blinking since last Thursday. It goes out of whack every time the wind blows. I wonder if FDOT knows or cares?

Speaking of traffic light. The residents of The Cloisters are asking for a traffic light for their entrance/exit at Main Highway and Commodore Plaza. They say it is too hard to make a left turn during heavy traffic hours in and out of their neighborhood.

Well JOIN THE CLUB! None of us who live along that route can make a left turn (or right turn) during high traffic times. We in the North Grove find it impossible to get in and out and have to do weird things to make it into the traffic flow. When I have to get out and make a left to head South, I make a right instead and go north -- I go into Mercy Hospital, turn around, wait for the light there and then come back out onto South Bayshore and head south.

And have you ever tried to get out of the neighborhoods in the South Grove during heavy traffic times? With the way Main Highway and Ingraham Highway twist and wind around, it's almost impossible.

If 10 or so households in The Cloisters get their way, then we should all put in for traffic lights. The residents of The Cloisters were to speak before the Village Council last month but they canceled their appearance. Maybe they just know it's a dumb selfish idea.
