Reggae Festival fills Peacock Park with music
Did you make it out to yesterday's Reggae Festival in Peacock Park? It was a great event; first class. We got there early in the afternoon, but the park was already crowded and as the night rolled on, it got mobbed. The music played until 11 pm.
People crowded around the stage, but there was plenty to do and eat away from the stage and many hung out at the food tents. Above is Janelle, the first performer of the event, who came on about 3 pm.
It was a manageable crowd early, there was plenty of space on the big lawn.
All walks of life showed up, everyone from families to singles and doubles and friends and skater boys and Rastamen and just about everyone.
There was all sorts of food from jerked chicken and beef to pizza. There were snow cones, fruit and lots of mixed drinks, too.
We ran into friends Ty Culver and Heidi Willson, visiting from Wellington, FL, with Eileen Seitz, local artist.
The Spam All Stars are always a crowd favorite, they came on late in the afternoon.
This really was a great event, you could just feel the cool vibes, and smell that sweet smoke wafting through the crowd as the night wore on.
Nuts anyone? Balloon anyone?
