Friends throw a first class send off for Ed Prelaz

ed1
It was a great party, it seemed as if the whole town came out, and why not, it was for the much loved Ed Prelaz. This was in fact, the second party thrown for Ed, who left the Mayfair after being the General Manager for almost seven years. Above are AnnaMaria Windisch-Hunt, Monty Trainer and Steve Steele.

Friday night's shindig was thrown by Ed's good friends Antoinette and Gail Baldwin along with Sue McConnell and Lalo Durazo, at one of our favorite places, the Peacock Garden Cafe. Above are Antoinette and Gail with Lisa Shallenberger. No, that's not Ed in the doorway above, even though it looks just like him. Uncannily, one of the waiters was the spitting image of Ed!

Here is Ed, at right, getting a City of Miami proclamation from Commissioner Marc Sarnoff. Luckily Ed is not going far, he'll be at his new office on Brickell.

Friends came from all over to be there. From left, Theresa Calluoro, Louis Del Borrello and Sweetpea Ellman.

Joe Harrison, Mary MacDonald, Lisa Shallenberger and Tom Santoro.

Ed Prelaz with Trina and David Collins.

Gerardo Gamboa, Margrit Gonzalez and Johnny Valdez.

Danny Clavijo, Steve Steele and Gerardo Gamboa.

The two Tonys -- Tony Angione and Tony Noboa; Cyn Zarco with Ron Jakubisin.

It was so nice to see so many friends there and it was a perfect way to start the weekend -- with good friends, good food and drinks, at a first class event at one of our favorite places!
