It's not Saturday without the green market on Grand
We hadn't been to the Glasser Farms Market for awhile, so we stopped by last weekend. This is the Saturday market on Grand Avenue in the lot sort of across from CVS.
A Publix was planned for the land there as part of the PointeGroup project, but we hear that Publix has backed out, so it looks like the green market will be there for awhile longer.
While the market has all the usual veggies, fruits and prepared items, the best part seems to be the offshoot on one side where vendors sell their own wares. Like Seth Hornaday here. Seth wanders the market and talks about his Intrinsic Stretch business, involving resistance stretching and strength training, but he also has this gun-like machine that stimulates your body where he places it and supposedly relaxes you and relieves stress that way.
Teresa has the Old World Soups booth and has different vegetable and fruit soups each week. There is also honey for sale and jewelry and all sorts of hand-made, baked and prepared items.
In the back, under the large shady trees, there's a hoolahoop section, where they play with and sell hoolahoops.
The farmer's market is open every Saturday from about 11 am until sundown. Stop by and get your fix of all things green and healthy, try the coconut water and fresh juices and even organic ice cream.
