Miss Coconut Grove, straight out of South Miami

Did anyone know we have a Miss Coconut Grove, hmm, we didn't either.

Her name is Ariana Villa, and according to her, the Miss Florida USA Pageant is produced by Tel-Air Interests, Inc. The Miss Florida winner will go to represent the State, at the Miss USA Pageant organized by the Miss Universe Organization. That's where Ariana, Miss Coconut Grove fits in.

That's a mouthful. It seems like a party for DBA's.

The Miss Coconut Grove USA and Teen USA Pageants was held at the Coco Plum Women’s Club in South Miami, not even the Coconut Grove Woman's Club? Guess they think Coco Plum is short for Coconut Grove Plum. I know we are losing a lot of our business to South Miami, we even lost George Farge this week for good and the King Mango Strut turned up on Sunset Drive, but now even our name Coconut Grove has been hijacked by a beauty contest? Weird.

Miss Coconut Grove did reach out to the Coconut Grove Chamber last week, seeking a membership, so at least she has a GPS and knows where we are.
