Award-winning photographer
Lee Pivnik, 15, is an award-winning student artist. He showed his photographs at this year's St. Stephen's Arts Show. Lee won the Award of Merit honor for being an emerging artist. He had a prime spot, too, at the first booth as you entered on the Main Highway side of the festival.
His main focus is nature photography. Lee will be showing at next weekend's South Miami Arts Festival, at booth 54, across from the First National Bank. Earlier in the year, he won third place at the Pinecrest Gardens Fine Art Show. He's been taking photos for three years.
Lee is a student at Coral Reef Senior High. His work is digital and he is learning film techniques in school.
This chair is Lee's entry in this year's Chair Affair put on by the GroveHouse Artists. The intake is February 26 and the chairs will be exhibited until March 25, 2011. Prizes are $300 for first place; $200 for second place and $100 for third place; honorable mention gets $75.00.
Lee's entry is called "Sharpie's Revenge," it took him three months to complete, he did it as a summer project. Lee is also an accomplished chess player and piano player. His goal is to be a photographer for National Geographic one day. You can see Lee's incredible nature and wildlife photography at his website here.
