Dine Magazine had one of their little tasting mixers at Calamari last night. That's Sebastian Belacazar from Calamari, serving cherry tomatoes with creamy mozzarella balls to Michelle Alvarez.

The cost was $10 in advance, $15 at the door -- and includes a glass of wine (red or white) courtesy of Republic National, a sample of the Chivas and a selection of complimentary hors d’oeuvres, which were brought out all night and in large quantities. Above are Giuseppe Marino, from Calamari and Katy Lynch, publisher of Dine Magazine.

Alleene Strickland, Ben Hodgkins, Yadi Rose and Emily Romberg.

Isabel Salazar, Siri Lek Chuaindhara, Rebecca Head, Blaine Zuver.

The menu was very large compared to all the previous Dine events we've attended, Calamari was quite generous. The goodies included Mini Margherita Pizzas; Caprese Skewers with cherry tomatoes, creamy mozzarella balls and fresh basil; Baked Stuffed Mushrooms filled with delicate crab meat; Mini Meatballs topped with ricotta cheese and fresh tomato sauce; Warm Focaccia Bread; Fresh Tomato Bruschetta and Grilled Chicken Skewers served in a Tangy Teriyaki Sauce.

dine3
Mercy Ballina and Norma Luaces enjoyed the delicious Italian food.

Dine Magazine has one of these mixers every Tuesday in a different restaurant in South Florida, from Palm Beach down to Miami. The event last night was one of the most generous ones, if you paid in advance, the whole night cost you $10 basically.
