Critical Mass to spend Saturday in the Grove

February's Emerge Critical Mass ride will be a picnic ride this Saturday, February 12. The bicycling group will be stopping at the Coconut Grove Farmer's Market to pick up snacks for a picnic at The Barnacle.

The group is concerned about the
recent report about the State considering closure of many state parks. The Barnalce is on the list, but we were assured last week by our State Rep. Carlos-Lopez-Cantera, also a Grovite, that he will do whatever he can to be sure The Barnacle is not closed.

I love how the Emerge Critical Mass people are so concerned about The Barnacle closure, yet they are promoting it by saying "A $2 donation for the park is encouraged (though not required)."

Guess they don't realize how that sounds. How about all your bicyclists pay up the 2 bucks at the gate and help keep the park open by supporting it since this is what the whole ride is about on Saturday?
