Cookies, cupcakes and more at The Cookie Lady

cookie3
We ran into Renita Ross Samuels-Dixon, village council member, at The Original Cookie Lady, the other day. Carrie Jackson, left, is the Cookie Lady, but she is so much more.

The Original Cookie Lady is located at 3701 Grand Avenue, at Douglas Road. Carrie bakes delicious cookies, cupcakes and breakfast and lunch. We had the most delicious Pastrami sandwich and red velvet cupcakes for lunch the other day. I don't know when I have had such lean Pastrami, it melted in my mouth.

The Cookie Lady serves ham, too, and turkey and 8 oz. burgers, double stacked club sandwiches and a lot more. There are fresh juices, smoothies and ice cream. For breakfast, you can get eggs and toast for as little as $1.99. Georgie beef sausages with eggs grits or potatoes is only $5.99. There is salmon with eggs and bacon and pan sausages, too.
