Relay For Life Kick-off is Sunday at Starbucks
We wished they would have supported the small businesses in the Grove, rather than a large corporation, but the American Cancer Relay for Life is having a "Starbucks Sunday" event this weekend.
From 10 am to noon, on January 9,at the Starbucks at Cocowalk, they will be telling people about this year's Relay for life and the kick-off event. Enjoy a free cup of coffee and take home Relay for Life goodies.
Relay for Life is an overnight community event where individuals and teams camp out, barbecue and take turns walking and running around a track, "relay" style to raise funds to fight cancer.At nightfall, participants will light hundreds of luminary candles around the track in a moving ceremony to honor cancer survivors as well as remembering those lost to the disease. The actual Relay for Life is April 2 and 3 this year, in Peacock Park.
