Lots of new eateries; lots of hurrying up and waiting

This is a sneak peek of the new Spartico, the trattoria opening up at the Mayfair Hotel in the next couple of weeks. You can see the pizza oven at back. This was the former lobby bar, where we held Mad Men Mondays. We probably will be back when then show resumes but ironically, when Marshall was giving me a tour of the new Burgundy Room at CocoWalk (where Crazy Pianos was), he said he wanted a "Mad Men feel." Of course my antennas went up and I mentioned Mad Men Monday, so if the new trattoria does not work out, we have a new venue. I'm just sayin . . .

As for new businesses, Francys, at the House of Frost, the new cupcake place on Commodore Plaza, tells me that they are hoping to open in the next couple of weeks. El Sitio, the new Colombian restaurant next to Greenstreets is supposed to open soon and so is CocoWok, the Asian place at CocoWalk.

All these people tell me that zoning delays are holding them up. The usual story. They are all ready to go, but it's all about hurring up and waiting at this point.
