You'll love the eclectic mix at GroveHouse Gallery

grove1
You never know what you are going to see at the GroveHouse Gallery, they have such an eclectic mix of mixed media and artist members.

grove2
All sorts of items were on display for Saturday's Gallery Walk. All the art is still there now, up through the month and for sale. You can stop in daily to view it.

grove3
Local Landmarks was the theme of this month's judging competition. The image above, by Uta, came in first. It's called "The Great Pyramid of Coconut Grove," an 11" x 16" photograph. The glare on the glass here, does not do the image justice. The judge liked the unique perspective of this image, including the patterns of the tiles and the coloring of the sky and roof.

grove4
Second place went to Jane Tinney. This is an 11" x 14" pen and ink called, "Gatekeeper's House." The simplicity and economy of detail is what appealed to the judge.

grove5
Third place went to Terry Mulrooney, for "Barnacle View," an 8" x 10" watercolor. The judge loved the view and the water, which almost looked like a photograph, rather than a painting.

grove6
We liked this image of AnnaMaria, a 9" x 12" mosaic piece called "Groove of the Grove," by Mary Ponchio.

The GroveHouse is open Mondays - by appointment; Tuesday - Thursday: 12 - 6 pm; Friday & Saturday: 12 - 9 pm and Sunday: 12 - 6 pm. For info, please call 305-569-3097. The gallery is located in the Mayfair Promenade, between the Mayfair Antique Market and the Improv Comedy Club.
