Alphabet Kids at Miami Science Museum

Join Miami Science Museum (3280 S. Miami Avenue) for an hour filled with stories and adventure with the creators of the Alphabet Kids. On Tuesday, November 16, from 5-6 pm, the creator and co-author of the book series will be doing readings and book signings. The event will also include a book sale and a number of activities for young Alphabet Kids enthusiasts, including an Alphabet Kids coloring activity, learning how to make a solar oven and even a multisensory lesson with bread from Umar's Magic Oven.

Created by Allegra Joyce Kassin and Patrice Samara, the Alphabet Kids books follow the adventures of Allegra, Elena, Isaac, Oni, Umar and Yang, a diverse group of children who have fun while learning about their diverse cultural backgrounds. The creators and authors of the acclaimed series hope that their stories will teach children valuable lessons about loving themselves as they are and realizing that people who are culturally different are not really so different after all. Each character was created with the intent of helping children gain a better understanding of the world around them while developing tolerance in this diverse society. The creators behind the Alphabet Kids also support children in need through their "buy one, give one" charity on their website.

This will be a great opportunity to personally meet the Alphabet Kids authors and hear some of their favorite stories from the series.
