Lots happening on the Grove restaurant scene
The former News Cafe spot on Florida Avenue, shown here, may soon have a new tenant -- an upscale Brazilian restaurant is said to be taking the place. Lights have been on lately and there has been movement inside. Let's hope the place finally opens, making our favorite area of the Grove, the little arts village, complete.
At the former Senior Frog's location on Main Highway, I met the owner Cesar Toro, who says that El Sitio, a Colombian restaurant, will be opening hopefully in mid-November. Mario the artistic director and Andres, the new manager were all huddling in the office, planning the new place. To get an idea of what might be, their El Sitio restaurant in Colombia, looks like this.
Grove Central is almost ready to open at the former Boardwalk Tavern on Main Highway, it will be similar to the Boardwalk and LeBron James has been at GreenStreets again. He was there for a late lunch yesterday afternoon, so guess that's his new favorite Grove spot.
CocoWok, the new Asian take-out place on Virginia Street, at CocoWalk is soon to open, later this month is the plan.
We are enjoying Calamari more and more, we had lunch with friends there yesterday and then were back again for dinner the same night.
