"White Friday" taking over "Black Friday"
Ironically, after all these years, the Grove is embracing the event by holding a "White Friday" day for the visitors (rather than what is traditionally called Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving), on Friday, November 26.
Visitors for the White Party week will be offered a bay cruise off the shores of Coconut Grove and merchants are preparing "white" specials and discounts. Window decorations and street scapes may be in white to go with the theme. Macy's had this White Party display last year.
It was hoped that some sort of fashion show could take place, but that may not happen. But the whole concept of "White Friday" as opposed to "Black Friday," is a cool branding thing that Coconut Grove can embrace.
The Bookstore will be hosting author David Leddick, who will do a book signing.
