Creative math combines arithmatic with rap music
In line with the government’s educational priority Race to the Top, The Academy of Arts & Minds Charter High School's creative math instructor Victoria Seawall is using rap music to teach geometrical concepts. Teams compete on the plaza after studying several math chapters and writing their original rap lyrics which must include each math topic studied. This week’s winning team for the #1 Rap are class members Joey El-Amin, Dareg Morenza, Mauro Menendez, Camille Sauberer and Zachary Auslander. Taking a 2nd place are Adora Wynter, Melany Rosario, Eduardo A. López, Lourdes Garcia and Rolando Alvarez.
