Artway66 premiering at Grove Gallery Walk
Last month it was just a preview, but over 300 people showed up without any promotion, so we can just imagine how the grand opening of Johnny Valdes' Artway66 will be on Saturday, October 2, as part of Coconut Grove's Gallery Walk night.
The New York-style artists' loft is the perfect setting for art from paintings to performance. The Grove's bohemian lifestyle is back at Artway66. Located at the Mayfair Promenade, across from The Improv, you feel welcome as you enter the high ceilinged studio/gallery. We love the tiger-style fainting couch, we took this photo months ago before the art was even up. The place has a nice, elegant, urban feel about it.
One wall is all brick, it goes from floor to ceiling and evokes a Soho art gallery. Cocktails, live music and performance art are all part of the plan and were a big part of the soft opening last month.
“Diversities” is the first exhibition, premiering on October 2, a one-of-a-kind art exhibit, presenting artists Proman Garcia, Johnny Valdes, Marlenes Gasiba, Kurt Merkel, Arien Lopez, Haydee Pichardo, Rolando Serra, Nelba Gonzales and Luis Breso.
Also on October 2, live music will be performed by Different Faces, Serena Stroppa, David Gilarbert and Yanelis Olbera. Video visuals by Johnny will fill the giant white screen. The Coconut Grove Ballet will perform and so will the young artists from the Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale.
Enjoy an open bar and tapas all night long. To RSVP, please call 305-726-1466 or email artway66@yahoo.com
