Grab your snake and come on out
Sunday, August 15 is Snake Day at Miami Science Museum (3280 S. Miami Avenue) from 10 am to 5 pm. It's a unique day of contests, demos, prizes and expert advice from the professional snake handlers. Remember the old Serpentarium on S. Dixie Highway? This is like that.
Bring your pet snake, registration is on site from noon to 3 pm. Competition categories include Best of Show, Largest All Around, People's Pick, Junior Herpetologist and Most Unusual.
Eat Like a Snake will be presented by Chef Kat Duran and there will be a live venomous snake show featuring live cobras, rattlesnakes, vipers and more. The Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Anti-Venom Team will also present.
Admission is free for two people with each snake entered.
