Pushing Miss Daisy

The other night you may have spied a bed or two rolling down the streets. It's just one of those nutty things we do in Coconut Grove (putting the nut in Coconut and all). The Great Grove Bed Race team was trying some of the beds from last year's event. Above, Daisy Lewis rides on the UM bed as Brian Davis, Camilo Salazar and Ed Ferenczi push her around town. The bed was built right, it made it through the laps around town.


Two beds were on display at the Bed Race Get Rolling Gathering at The Grove Spot last Thursday night. There was a large turnout for bonding, bed building tips and drinking. Another gathering will be held next month. Daisy even picked up a new sponsor at the event. Above are Barbara Ferenczi, Daisy Lewis, Natalie Salas and Camilo Salazar.


Even little Jordyn got in the act. There's a man's division, a woman's divison, a co-ed divison and even a corporate division, is there a child's division yet?

Racing the beds on a quite back street was fun. We thought of those drag race movies where the slick guys show up in the middle of the night to race cars, dare we set up something with beds one late night near race time in September, but with beds? You know, an impromptu thing with invites given out only by word of mouth?
